Conclusion:
SinTek has a real quality unit on their hands here. The 500 Watt power supply has many great features such as the adjustable voltage rails, a 120mm adjustable fan, a digital temperature readout, and modular cabling. As you can see from the graphs, the voltage rails are nearly rock solid no matter the load size. Having all of the cables pre-wrapped and modular makes installation a clean and easy task. All of this is wrapped together with a five year warranty.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 12V adjustable voltage rail didn’t quite get down to 12volts when the fan was at maximum speed. They could have also improved on the way it was shipped, which may have been an isolated incident.
The SinTek 500 is available at places like Xoxide, Zipzoomfly, and SVC, ranging in price from $129 to $159. The 600 watt version starts around $189.
Overall, the SinTek 500 SLI PSU earned a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars and a final rating of "Highly Recommended".
