Zalman Reserator 1 Plus Water Cooling System - Page 6 of 6 |
Conclusion:
Although the Reserator is much larger then most, OK... all water coolers, its not actually intruding on my workspace and actually gives a high tech look to the space. Zalman seems to have put a lot of quality into the craftsmanship of this system. All of the parts are well built. There was a small leak; however on the outside of the case, but we all know a leak can be deadly to a computer. Hopefully we also take the extra precaution of assembling and running any water cooling system outside the case before installing it.
Installation is very simple; a second set of hands would be helpful but is not necessary. The cooler performed just as anticipated; extremely quiet operation and decent temperature control. Although a temperature drop was not noted on the CPU, a very large drop was noticed over both of the video cards.
A quick PriceGrabber search showed this water cooling system selling in the $225-260 range (with one VGA block) and a second VGA block available for $27-35. Definitely a significant investment, but the price reflects the quality and attention to detail.
Overall the Zalman Reserator 1 Plus earns 4 out of 5 stars, and definitely makes the list of "Recommended" products.
