The Display (continued):
Well in order to include several of the features without creating an endless review, here is a list of the ones that stood out to me. The MX610 is capable of displaying the following information and more:
• Date and Time
• CPU Temperature
• CPU speed
• CPU usage
• Fan Speeds
• Weather reports
• Voltages
• Show status of Winamp
• Control Winamp with keypad
• Frames per second (while gaming)
• LED alerts for any preset condition
• Network information
• Upload and download speed
• Stock Quotes
• And much more!!!
The keypad feature was a very nice touch; from here you can quickly scroll from one screen to the next or control your MP3s with Winamp. It can also be used to stop the display or jump to selected screens.
Conclusion:
The possibilities seem to be endless... I never knew the power of a PLED screen, and the ability of Matrix Orbital’s MX610 to monitor any information your computer can obtain is overwhelming. In addition, the accessories proved to be very useful; such as the LED indicator, internal USB cable and the temperature probes. These features are coupled with a bright easy to read screen that can be seen from any angle. The software is not the friendliest program, although with some time I believe it could be mastered. Lastly there was a small blemish in the screen which is most likely an isolated incidence.
The MX6 series is available at the Matrix Orbital website in four different styles and colors. Each one in the series sells for ~$109.95. The LED indicator goes for $12.95. Temperature probes run $9.95 each and lastly the internal USB cable goes for $8.25. As reviewed the total package would run $151.05USD.
Matrix Orbital’s MX610, along with the accessories, easily earned 4.5 out of 5 stars... "Readily Recommended."
