Accessories:

First, let’s take a look at the neck strap. It is a thin black cloth necklace with the company name and web address printed on it. On the neck strap there is a quick release buckle that is a very convenient feature, allowing for quick removal of the flash drive without taking the strap from your neck.

Also included was a 30 inch USB extension cable for hard to reach ports, or if your computer case does not have USB ports on the front. I found that it was necessary to use the cable on my laptop and a few of the computers where I work because the drive was too wide to fit into the USB slots.

The sheet of multicolor labels included was, in my opinion rather difficult to use because of the size. Each label was slightly larger than a square centimeter and nearly impossible to write anything useful on.

Software:

The miniature driver CD contained the JetFlash utility, users manual in several languages, a recovery application, and drivers for Windows 98 users (not required for newer versions of Windows).

Once installed, there are a few functions to choose from in the JetFlash utility software...

The first feature of the JetFlash utility is called "PC Lock", and it allows the user to create a lock for their computer. This feature will lock a computer until the thumb drive is reinserted into the USB port. In order to avoid permanently locking a computer by losing the “key”, Transcend built in a timer feature. This allows the user to lock a computer for 30 minutes up to 168 hours. After this time the computer automatically unlocks without the flash drive.

The next feature of the utility is called "Boot Up". This device can be used as a bootable drive when enabled in BIOS (BIOS must support USB-ZIP or USB-HDD as first boot).

The "Partition" feature allows the user to split the drive into two sections, one being password protected and the other publicly viewable.
