4 Channel Wireless Camera System - Page 3 of 2 |
Operation (continued):
The following images were created by connecting the receiver to a Leadtek Winfast TV 2000 XP capture card. The quality of the images can be seen by enlarging each image below.
One camera mounted to monitor the outside of the entrance...

One camera mounted to monitor the kitchen door...

And one camera mounted to monitor the living room...

Conclusion:
At the time of this review, Geeks.com shows the retail price for this system at $299.99 but sells them for $161.50. Although the system has some limitations, and the terrible battery life pretty much eliminates that mode of operation, the system still proved very useful. It did take a bit of time to mount the cameras, tweak the antennas, and realize that batteries were not the way to go, but once it was all set up the system functioned with great ease. It was an eye opener to watch my two kids at play in the living room without me being there to influence their behavior, and I really like being able to see who is at the front door from my bedroom where I set up the receiver and monitor.
For the novelty, performance, and variety of practical uses found with this kit, I give the 4 Channel Wireless Camera System 4 out of 5 Stars... "Recommended".
Final Rating (4 out of 5 stars):

Pros:
• Good value
• Ease of set up and operation
• Good quality audio and video feed
Cons:
• Terrible battery life
• Camera mounts lack side to side swivel motion
