OCZ PowerStream 600W ATX Power Supply - Page 4 of 4 |
Testing (continued):
The graph below shows both the OCZ PowerStream and the Enermax Noisetaker with a light load.
This next graph shows the loaded voltage...
As you can see from the graphs above, the OCZ PowerStream provides very tight voltages on each of the three main rails. Again, these voltages were set with no load on the power supply and could be greatly improved with very minimal tweaking to acquire exactly the desired voltage under a heavy load.
Conclusion:
The OCZ PowerStream is a very good looking power supply with a few extra features that set it apart from the crowd. With a small screwdriver any computer enthusiast with a multimeter can tweak this power supply to give the exact voltages needed. This power supply is also good for many different computer systems including ATX 12V version 2.0, BTX, EPS12V and ATX12V version 2.01. On the downside there could have been more SATA cables and possibly have the wire harness come out on the other side of the case for better wire management. The voltage on the loaded rails was very respectable and could be better with some tweaking. A PriceGrabber search showed the 600 Watt power supply available from several places, including Newegg, Computer HQ and ATACOM, for $184 to $215. Quite an investment for a power supply, but it is quite a power supply.
Overall I give the OCZ 600 Watt PowerStream a final rating of 4 out of 5 stars... "Recommended".
