Mini Hard Drive Mini Roundup - Page 5 of 5 |
Conclusion:
Overall the three drives work well, but your decision on which to purchase would really come down to which of the above categories is most important to you. For the hardcore user looking to transfer large amounts of data you would have to go with the Kanguru Quicksilver. For those of you (like me), the Transcend StoreJet, while a little slower, takes the prize because it is small enough that I would actually carry it with me so Im likely to have it when needed. After all that is what a portable drive is for.
Transcend StoreJet Final Rating (4 out of 5 stars):
Transcend StoreJet Pros:
Extremely small size and weight
Most likely to actually be carried around
No external power source required
Attractive enclosure and case
Transcend StoreJet Cons:
Decent performance but not as good as some of the competition.
1.8" hard drive may be more difficult / expensive to replace or upgrade
USB cable is not as common so you will have to carry it.
Case does not hold cable.
