The Cables:
Let’s first take a look at a chart showing just what leads come with the Silent Power Tiger 550:
As you can see by the chart, this power supply is ready to take on any and all systems with leads to handle SATA, PCI-E with SLI, as well as your standard 12 volt molex connections and the 4 pin connector of Intel P4 and dual P4 set ups.
All cables, with the exception of the standard 12 volt molex and the case fan leads, are clearly marked on the connectors as shown in the below picture.
All the cables with the exception of the case fan cable are very nicely sheathed in a nylon mesh wrap and seem very easy to bend or mold into a given shape so they will stay where you want them. The case fan cable is a black and yellow twisted wire with two leads. Each lead has one 4 pin molex connector and one 3 pin connector. Here again, as with the power supply itself, the quality of all the cables looks and feels to be of a very high level.
The Internals:
WARNING: Do not do this to your power supply!
As you can see by the sticker covering one of the screws that hold the power supply together, opening it up will void your warranty, not to mention the possibility of receiving a severe electrical shock. I opened up our review sample to see what was inside so you won’t have to.
In these two pictures you can see the circuit board and components along with the large heat sinks and the 120mm fan.
