First Impressions:
Once you get the power supply out of the bubble wrap you can not help but notice the high quality finish on the unit. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here is a picture of the top of the power supply to show you just how nice the finish really is.
The next thing you are likely to notice is the modular design. This is a feature that is really starting to catch on with many power supply manufacturers. With a modular designed power supply, the power leads are detachable from the unit so you only connect the leads you need. The rest can be removed so that they do not clutter up the case and use up your valuable time trying to hide them.
On the front of the power supply are 10 blue locking connectors to accept the 10 different power leads that come with the power supply, along with a little diagram showing you which lead goes where.
On the bottom of the power supply is the single 120mm cooling fan complete with the gold colored fan grill. Here again the high quality of finish is evident.
The back side of the power supply is a metal mesh and has only the socket for the A/C power cord, an on/off switch, and a red switch clearly marked for either 115 volts or 230 volts.
Everything from the fit and finish of the power supply to the way the power leads lock into place gives you the feeling of confidence that the Silent Engine Tiger 550 is a top notch unit.
