Installation (continued):

With the motherboard installed, I went to install the graphics card, and the tool-less mechanism proved to be a problem. The tool-less feature will only work on cards that have a PCB that is shorter than the PCI bracket. As you can see below, I can not get the PCI Express card to latch into place, although an old sound card I dropped in fir rather nicely. The tool-less bracket design seems like a good one, using a slotted track to guide the clip down onto the card's bracket, but it seems most graphics cards will not be able to take advantage of it. All of my recent graphics cards extend beyond the end of the bracket, meaning you will have to use a screw anyway, which is how I solved this problem.

The image below shows the area where all of the front panel and drive connections are made. there was no problem here, but the connections were easy to make, and the inclusion of the loose PC speaker was a nice touch. I really don't like PC speakers that are hard mounted to the case, and this type should really be offered more often, in my opinion.

The images below show the finalized base installation. The Hitachi SATA drive was mounted in front of the case's intake fan for extra cooling, while the other hard drives were mounted in their aluminum enclosures a bit higher up. Everything went together well, the power cables all reached well, and cable management was not a big deal at all.

Next it was time to power up the system and see how she ran. Below we have a few looks at the case with the LED fans providing a nice glow. The light filters through the various panels, and provides a nice mellow glow. The below left image is a close up of the side panel, while the below right image shows a nice look at the case as a whole.

The below left image was taken looking down onto the top of the case, and in the below right image we are looking into the "grill" of the case. The front definitely looks good to me, as the inlet seems a bit like a jet burning blue flames behind the chromed grill. Overall the Briza-97 definitely looks sharp, and the holes are a nice alternative to a side window. You can't see as much detail inside, but you can make out the major components, and as a bonus you can't see any wiring clutter this way.

As a second part of the installation, I added in a few accessories that ClubIT.com included with the shipment. The Cooler Master EL S-ATA cable will be used to connect the Hitachi hard drive, and the Cooler Master Aerogate 3 will be use to control fan speed and monitor temperatures during testing. The S-ATA cable is all about looking cool, but the Aerogate 3 looks good, and provides a critical function to this review. Special thanks to ClubIt.com for sending over these extra items with this case!
