After reviewing a bunch of high performance DDR3 memory kits we shifted gears and went back to revisit DDR2. While DDR3 will obviously be the memory of choice sometime in the not so distant future, DDR2 is still too powerful, popular, and well priced to be even considered for retirement. Many of the DDR2 kits we have reviewed lately have been rated for speeds above the standard PC2-6400 specification, and the kit provided for this review by Kingston takes things about as high as you can get.
This review is going to take a look at a PC2-9600 (1200MHz) kit rated for 5-5-5-15 timings at a toasty 2.3V. While a 2GB kit is available, we have a 1GB kit to check out. Before taking a look at the kit provided for review, let's look at some of the published data taken from the Kingston website...
