Jing Ting Force Chipset Cooler
March 07, 2006

With the current layout of motherboards based on the nVidia nForce4 chipset, the physical chip is usually located between, or just below, the PCI Express slots. Your only option for an upgrade over the stock chipset cooler is generally another low-profile cooler which might not provide much benefit. Jing Ting has designed a new chipset cooler that takes this into account, and has implemented a heat pipe into their design which takes the bulk of the cooler's body away from the default location.

A few views of the Force Chipset Cooler are shown above, and you can see that a low profile cooler is maintained, while a good sized heatpipe/radiator can ne positioned off to the side and out of the way of your graphics card(s). Let's take a look at the Jing Ting Force Chipset Cooler and see if this will help keep an nForce4 chipset cool.

Packaging:

The Force Chipset cooler comes packaged in a plain brown cardboard box. The only visible marking is a little sticker attached to identify it came from Jing Ting. Inside the box we see there is not much to the internal packaging either. The cooler is wrapped in a strip of lightweight foam. I would question this packaging, however it arrived without any damage, so it seems to be sufficient. No instructions where included which is probably the biggest flaw of the cooler. Installation instructions are provided on their website though, so it's not a total loss.
