Night Magic Information:

As with all the other Sunbeam Tech products reviewed here, the Night Magic is packaged in a plastic snap-together pack. Inside the package, the only items are the Night Magic cable and a power connector. There was no adhesive, cable ties, etc. for mounting. This was the only issue I had with the Night Magic, and was very surprising. Sunbeam Tech usually makes sure to include any accessory you could need with their products. You'll see later why some adhesive would have been helpful to have been included. I will be looking at the Blue Night Magic, which is also available in Red, Green, and Red/Blue/Green.

There's not much to the installation of this unit, most of the installation is dependant upon personal preference. It’s as easy as deciding where you want the lights to shine, and in what shape you want them to be. Just plug the power cable into any available Molex connector. If you find that one string of Night Magic lights is not enough for you, Sunbeam Tech has made it so you can chain them together! This opens up a ton of possibilities!

Adding lights to your case is nothing new. We've been using Cold Cathode, and LED's for many years. What sets the Night Magic apart is the fact that it's bendable! You can bend it into almost any shape you can imagine! Below you can see a few of the positions I mounted it. The first picture is of it lying on the bottom of my Antec full tower case. The second pictures shows that it's mounted on a support rail.

Finally, the third picture is of it bent into a loop.

Above I mentioned that the product did not include any mounting options. Since the cable naturally wants to roll up, getting it to lay straight can be a challenge. Not to mention the difficulties if you want to hang it from the top of your case, a support rail, in a specific shape, or even laying it on the bottom of the case. I ended up using some masking tape in the space between the LED's to mount it to the support rail.

Conclusion:

You can add light to your case many different ways; CCFL, LED Fans, and LED's Power Supply to name a few. While each of these options work great, sometimes you want something a little different or light added in an area that's hard to light by these. The Night Magic is a perfect lighting option. Design almost any shape you can think of, and you can also mount in tight places in almost any location.

The Night Magic is priced around $14.99. While this costs more than the typical CCFL light, the flexibility and potential uses makes this a great buy!

Pros:

• Extremely easy installation
• Bright
• Bendable into any position
• Easy to place in case
• Chain multiple Night Magics together

Cons:

• No Mounting accessories
• No UV
