Blue LED Fan:

The last device Sunbeamtech sent was a pair of their blue LED fans. These fans ship with 4 fan mount screws and the leads feature both 3 pin fan header connectors and a pass-through Molex connector. The leads are run inside clear flexible tubing. The fan supports speed monitoring when using the 3-pin connector. One thing I did notice was the yellow fan speed signal wire was run all the way to the Molex connector and ties into the second ground lead. Not sure why this was done, but it has no effect.

Specifications:

Dimensions: 80mm x 80mm x 25mm
Rated Voltage: 12V DC
Air Flow: 32.5 CFM
Speed: 2500 RPM
Noise: 28.3 dbA
Current: 0.13A
Power use: 1.6 Watt

The Sunbeamtech LED fans come in red, green, blue and even a blue/green variety. On the fan side, this fan has quite a bit of airflow for the noise it puts out. The noise level falls right in line for a 2500-RPM fan putting out 32-33 CFM. On the LED side, this fan will light up an entire case. Very bright, very blue and the normally clear blades throw out a nice pattern when running. The two pictures below show the fan running; the first picture with a flash, and the second without a flash.

Conclusion:

Sunbeamtech produces some of the nicest lighting products made. The colors are vivid and bright, the right connectors are used in the right places, and the devices seem well made and not flimsy. The wiring on the Lazer isn’t long enough, and the third speed signal wire going all the way to the Molex connector are about the only very minor issues I could find in this group.

Jab-tech has outstanding prices on the Sunbeamtech CCFL tubes. The dual 12” sticks go for $7.99, singles for $5.99. Xoxide carries the Lazer LEDs for $5.49 and has the LED fans for $3.99 each or 3 for $15.00. (Note: the LED fans at Xoxide are not marked with a manufacturers name, but the specifications match perfectly... I have not verified through Xoxide if these are indeed Sunbeamtech fans).

I give this group of Sunbeamtech lighting products 5 out of 5 stars.

Final Rating (5 out of 5 stars):

Pros:

• Bright, vivid light
• Well-chosen and placed connectors
• Great color choices
• Velcro mounting pads included

Cons:

• Short wiring on Lazer
