Benchmarking (continued):
First up, let’s take a look at the memory bandwidth. Sisoft Sandra reported huge increases in memory bandwidth while overclocked.
For what it’s worth Everest reported over 8100 MB/s at 315MHz x 8. This board will go faster yet with proper time to tweak for stability.
Next up was Sandra’s CPU Arithmetic Benchmark. The same kind of increase can be seen as in Everest. Overclocking this machine does indeed give real life speed boosts.
PCMark 2004 by Futuremark is a whole system benchmarking tool that gives results in unitless numbers called Marks. Again we confirm the increase across the board due to the faster clocks.
PiFast is a simple program designed to calculate Pi to a certain amount of digits. I used the Chudnovski method at 1024k calculations and calculated to 10,000,000 places. The bench below shows the seconds it took to complete and quicker is better. (NOTE: I also used SuperPi for both stability checking and benchmarking, however SuperPi seems to fail at any settings. Even with everything else stable, SuperPi has issues with this board. Others seem to have the same issue).
