Internal Case Overview - Side (Continued):

And then we have pictures of the UV Reactive Acrylic side window. As you can see the window is rather large and the acrylic material makes the side panel very light. The only complaint about the side panel is the few blemishes on the glass that you can probably barely notice in the pictures. We tried to clean the blemishes (at first we thought they were fingerprints) but this did not help the problem. A nice innovative feature added to this window is the addition of the vented exhaust that comes factory attached as shown. It is designed to fit right over your processor's heatsink and quickly vents the hot air outside of the case. This may not work well with large heatsinks, but with a stock AMD heatsink as was used in the application, it works great! Logisys should make it easier for users to add/remove this cpu vent. Plastic clips would work well for securing the vent to the window.

As we continue to analyze the interior of the case here is a close up of the previously mentioned (and pre-installed 120mm fan). A picture of the pci/agp slots, also included for completion as nothing special is pictured here. As we hinted earlier, it would be even better if the case was completely screw-less. Why not use thumbscrews everywhere?

The only real downfall of this case is probably a rare manufacturing defect. This is a close up of the molex connector that powers the rear 120mm case fan. As you can see one of the pins slipped completely out of the connector. The other three pins are just barely hanging in there. Obviously these errors should be noticed before releasing the case, but any handy person could fix this with a little solder.

Conclusion:

The Logisys Armor Gaming Case is a nice entry level case for the budget gamer. Priced at $59.99 (without power supply) directly from Xoxide, it won't break the bank, but it does provide features that would cost you much more to modify your own case. This is a very cool upgrade for anyone using a typical $35 generic case. This "pre-mod" includes some really nice features for the price, including; the large 120mm rear fan, a side cooling solution, a really bright digital temperature display, and a UV reactive side window. You can't ask for much more for $60.

The Logisys Armor Gaming Case earns 4.5/5 stars. Only a few cosmetic blemishes take away from this otherwise great $60 case.

Final Rating (4.5 out of 5 stars):

Pros:

• Lightweight and portable (perfect for LAN parties)
• Nice acrylic window with side exhaust
• 120mm rear fan, side case fan and even more room for additional cooling
• LCD digital temperature display (looks great while providing important information)
• Attractive exterior with multiple colors to choose from

Cons:

• Some cosmetic blemishes on window
• Not the largest case for tons of upgrades and huge RAID arrays
• This particular unit's 120mm fan had some loose molex connector wires
• The whole case isn't tool-less (would be a great improvement)

Special thanks to Xoxide for providing the Logisys Armor Gaming Case to BigBruin.com for review!
