FoxConn 875A02-6EKRS 875P Motherboard - Page 4 of 6 |
Test setup:
 FoxConn 875A02-6EKRS Motherboard
Intel Pentium 4 2.8E Prescott Processor
 Crucial PC3200 DDR Memory (256 x 2)
 Gigabyte Radeon 9600XT
 Western Digital 80Gig S-ATA HDD
Memorex True 8 Dual format DVD burner
 Super Tornado 400w PSU
Installation of the above components went smoothly and in no time I had Windows XP Professional installed and running. All available updates/security packs were also installed at this time. Ive grown rather fond of my Logitech cordless MX700 Duo and have been disappointed that every so often the keyboard will loose the secure connection Im thinking this anomaly is Windows related. However, This system will also drop the LAN connection on occasion, requiring a reboot to recognize the LAN cable (this has continued through several builds on this motherboard).
Benchmarks:
All Benchmarks were performed against an identically configured (the same components used) FoxConn 865M01-G-6LS motherboard. This motherboard sports the Intel 865G Chipset which is a step or so down from out test board.
Both motherboards were subjected to the following benchmarks:
SiSoft Sandra 2004 CPU Arithmetic Module
SiSoft Sandra 2004 CPU Multimedia Module
SiSoft Sandra 2004 File System Module
 SiSoft Sandra 2004 Memory Module
 AIDA 32
 PCMark04
 PCMark2002
 PiFast 4.2
 ScienceMark 2.0 Cypher Benchmark
 3DMark03
 3dMark2001SE
SiSoft Sandra 2004 CPU Arithmetic:
The CPU arithmetic module of SiSoft Sandra is a synthetic benchmark that provides a test of the systems processing capabilities and gives 3 results. The graph below shows that the 875P chipset has a slight edge over the 865G.

SiSoft Sandra 2004 CPU Multimedia:
This module tests the CPU performance while generating a fractal. Floating Point and Integer results are shown below. Here the 865G takes a slight lead over the 875P board.

SiSoft Sandra 2004 File System:
The file system module tests the data transfer rates on the installed hard drive. (keep in mind that the installed hard drive is S-ATA and not IDE) Here we have a tie.
