It is January, so that means it is time for the International Consumer Electronics Show, or CES. The 2010 edition finds the show back in Las Vegas, Nevada ready to show the world what is new and exciting in consumer electronics, personal technology, and computing. The show officially kicks off on January 7th, but some events take place in the days before. This article will take a look at some of the items exhibited at CES Unveiled, a press only preview held on January 5, 2010 in the Venetian's Ballroom.
Several companies were displaying devices intended to help you locate lost devices.
Nio is a Bluetooth security tag which links with your cell phone to alert you if the tagged item is lost or stolen. It features a motion sensor, light alert on the tag, and several other features. Here is the device attached to a digital camera.
Zomm was also showing a similar device. This one has some added features that users might find very useful. These features include a panic button which will emit an ear piercing noise to alert people around you, and it will also call for emergency assistance. Finally, it also acts as a speakerphone for incoming calls.
Green Products were a big feature of the CES 2010 Unveiled event.
Powermat was there showing off several new wireless charging stations. A single charging pad and a dual charging pad will be available soon. In addition they have a newly designed three device charging pad unit which folds up when not needed.
