Help me buy a new router

What would be the best router you could run using free software and an old computer? Some Linux distro aimed at being a router I'm sure.... Anybody got experience with this?

I have never used it but isn't "Smooth Wall" supposed to be good as a router/firewall?

that is a 2,900 router..how is that not overkill?

I would bet the Cheezinator didn't spend anywhere near 3k on that router either...
