Actually, the flaw is in the IDN spec it's self, the affected browsers were hit by this because they follow the IDN spec. IE can also be affected if you install an IDN plugin, since it's not natively supported.

Sorry just giving you a hard time but really if you are using IE you have security issues to think otherwise is dangerous. |
I guess I'm just the luckiest IE user in the world. I haven't had one piece of spyware, adware, pop-up, or virus of any description in years.
There are 4 of us here using the same cable Internet connection...probably about 8-10 hours a day of combined surfing.
I haven't installed SP1 or SP2.
Are there security issues that I am missing?
Granted, I DO have SpywareBlaster, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, ZA Pro, and AntiVirPE installed and running. But I would be using the same for Firefox too.
Am I missing something here?

firefox just plain ownz. its in my expierience faster and the multi-tabs are so usefull. true it does have problems displaying some sites...but i find a site like that once a week or so

If anyone would like to have FF working faster try this:
4 broadband users only!
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return.
Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a
time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once,
which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30.
This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name
it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This
value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts
on information it receives. If you're using a broadband
connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!
