Pardon the minor pimpage...

I am not sure how or why, but Google is promoting Firefox downloads with their toolbar, and will throw the site a few coins for every new download/install through the link we have... Check the front page, just below the "Site Links":

http://www.bigbruin.com/

Firefox really is becoming a solid browser... I didn't like it at first, as many things didn't seem right on sites, but now I have no big beefs.

If you haven't tried it yet... Now's a good time! Grin

Thanks!

Generally the visual problems that you saw in some sites with FF were due to the site programmer writing code for some other old, broken, non standards compliant browser.

I installed it BTW, was I the first?

Yeah, consider this a more tame version of that.

But, what is interesting is how high Firefox is getting in the percentage of users here at Bigbruin.com... Used to be low, and here are the past weeks stats:

1. Internet Explorer 55.26%
2. Firefox 36.63%
3. Opera 3.91%
4. Safari 2.03%
5. Mozilla 1.22%
6. Netscape 0.64%

Maybe more interesting... Mac beats Linux in the OS battler:

1. Windows 94.70%
2. Macintosh 2.76%
3. Linux 2.25%
4. (unknown) 0.18%
5. SunOS 0.06%
6. FreeBSD 0.03%
7. OpenBSD 0.02%

I used the link to download Firefox for my laptop... It got version 1.0.7 which I thought was odd. So, I then downloaded 1.5 directly and during installation it pointed out that Google Toolbar was incompatible with the new version... Laughing

Just a warning to users on firefox, when you store a password with it, it is viewable by anyone else that you let on your computer.

Tools>>Options>>Privacy>>View Saved Passwords>>Show Passwords

Definately not a feature that I was happy to find on my computer, expecially since it is the browser our school has switched to on every single PC in the network.

(I didn't want to make another topic about Firefox, So I appologize about the off-topicness)
