I didn't bend the wires, but the did have to be flexed to snap into place - tight fit. Should work, maybe just not looking at it right yet... I remember seeing these wires at first and thinking...

Yes that fan is correct. Think of it this way. The fan company wants you to see their logo sticker so you buy the fan again. YOu know if you see the sticker you'll remeber the name so make sure the sticker is facing out. The clips put them on the heat sink then grab the short piece that is bent up pull on those until they go over your fan. It should take a little force but not a lot.

And there's a problem, I think my wire is smaller. From the picture above BB's wire looks hella longer. Even if I did bend this little thing to try and fit, I'd think it would snap before I got it on. Damn it's times like these when I wish I had a digital camera.

what model is that heatsink??? I'll get you a guide. Also what did you want for those parts?

STEP 1 STEP 2

ALX-800 with its parts and our test platform: AMD 2000+XP and ASUS A7V8X-X


Remove the plastic film and place the white circular pads on the notches under HSF base.



STEP 3 STEP 4


Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease on both CPU DIE and HSF base. Note the relation position of CPU socket cam box to HSF base.

Take a small flat screwdriver to install the 6 prong clip over CPU socket, the longer side always over CPU cam box. We can also put the fan wire clips on now.


STEP 5 STEP 6


Put the fan wire clips on the bottom screw holes on the fan casing. ALX-800 can support any 80 mm fan regardless thickness as long the casing has open screw wells. Remember the fan is blowing down toward CPU on all Thermalright HSF.


Plug in the fan power plug on to motherboard prior to BOOT UP, now ALX-800 is ready to handle all the thermal energy CPU can dissipate

On this heat sink the clip doesnt go over the fan it goes inbetween the two thin pieces so over the bottom but not the top ok????
