STEP 1 STEP 2
ALX-800 with its parts and our test platform: AMD 2000+XP and ASUS A7V8X-X
Remove the plastic film and place the white circular pads on the notches under HSF base.
STEP 3 STEP 4
Apply a thin, even layer of thermal grease on both CPU DIE and HSF base. Note the relation position of CPU socket cam box to HSF base.
Take a small flat screwdriver to install the 6 prong clip over CPU socket, the longer side always over CPU cam box. We can also put the fan wire clips on now.
STEP 5 STEP 6
Put the fan wire clips on the bottom screw holes on the fan casing. ALX-800 can support any 80 mm fan regardless thickness as long the casing has open screw wells. Remember the fan is blowing down toward CPU on all Thermalright HSF.
Plug in the fan power plug on to motherboard prior to BOOT UP, now ALX-800 is ready to handle all the thermal energy CPU can dissipate _________________ Monkey see Mikey Do |
