Testing (continued):
Company of Heroes (DirectX 10):
After running this test I remembered why I used to run it in DirectX 9 mode instead of DirectX 10 mode. With a resolution of 1680x1050, 8x Anti-Aliasing, and with high settings, the benchmark included with Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts was executed on the cards. The benchmark provides results in terms of a minimum, maximum, and average frame rate value, and higher is better for all three. In DirectX 10 mode it seems impossible to score anything outside of the neighborhood of 60 fps maximum.
Windows 7 Experience:
The latest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 7, has a simple utility built in to analyze the performance of a few system components. We will consider the gaming graphics and desktop graphics scores, as they are the only ones that should change from one graphics card to the next. Higher is better for these results, and the highest possible score is 7.9.
What we see is that Windows is not impressed by a CrossFire configuration, and whether you have one card or two your going to get a mediocre score of 6.0.
