Power Consumption:
With as green as the world seems to be becoming these days, and all of us are trying to do our part to save the natural resources we have at our disposal, conservation of power usage has become a very important factor in our everyday lives. So now we are going to take a look at the power usage for all of our cards at both idle and with the cards maxed out at 100% load. Again to give the cards a full graphics load we used the game Aliens vs. Predator. Once we got the cards to 100% we let them sit for approximately 30 minutes and then we recorded the highest wattage. For the idle results we let the system sit at idle with nothing running for 30 minutes and we recorded that result as well. To measure the results I enlisted the help of a Kill-A-Watt power meter.
This is where the Sapphire Radeon HD 6670 really stood out. Even at a full 100% load it managed to only use 70 more watts than it did at idle. And on top of that, so far it is the overall power champ, as it has used the least amount of power. But we can attribute that to the lack of any external power.
