The Basics:
Like almost every other flash memory manufacturer,
Patriot Memory includes a holder for the SD card. As this card is designed to be used as a back up device this is very important. There is nothing unique about this holder, it is exactly like all the other holders that comes with almost every flash memory card.
The 16GB SDHC Duplicator is visible through the holder. As it is a standard SDHC card if you put it in a pile with other SD cards you couldn't tell the difference. What makes it different is the included software, and any potential quality and performance refinements that Patriot may have included.
One thing that any user will need to keep in mind is that this is a SDHC card, some older SD readers will not be able to read an SDHC card. If the SD reader does not specifically state it reads SDHC cards, the user should be prepared to purchase a new reader. These can be purchased for little money from almost any store that carries computer hardware.
Software:
Once you are ready to begin using the Duplicator, you insert the SDHC card into your reader and the standard AutoPlay options should appear. However, there is sadly no AutoPlay option to run the Duplicator.exe software. You will need to click on the application to manually start it. Included on the SDHC card are several files, the most important of which is the Duplicator.exe application and a user's guide in PDF format.
Once you start up the Duplicator application, you will be presented with the screen shown below. This screen allows the user to select from eleven different languages, and select or create a profile.
