Testing (continued):
ATTO Disk Benchmark:
ATTO is a manufacturer of storage related hardware, and they just happen to have created their own benchmark. v2.41 of their Disk Benchmark was used to compare the drives on hand, and a small sampling of the many results provided were chosen for this review. The test was run in a fairly standard configuration; with a transfer size from 0.5 to 8192KB, a total length of 256MB, and the queue depth was raised to 10. Read and write results are provided in terms of MB/s, and higher is better.
The first two graphs take a look at a sample from the lower end of the transfer size spectrum; 64KB. When it comes to reading files of this size, the three SSDs are all about the same.
But in the next graph we see the write performance results where the Vertex 2 goes back to dominating the competition.
Moving up the ladder we come to 4096KB (4MB) transfers. The graph below shows the read results, which may be close between the SSDs, but the Vertex 2 is still on top. We'll get to the write results on the next page.
