Packaging and Accessories:
The
Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD5870 1GB graphics card is sold in the Antarctic inspired packaging shown below.
The front and back of the box provide a good deal of information about the card's features, specifications, and capabilities, while also using the visuals of ice and penguins to convey that it runs very cool. Two stickers affixed to the front of the box indicate that you don't just get one game with this card, but that you actually get two. A code to download Colin McRae's Dirt-2 has been included with a few Sapphire cards we have checked out lately, and hopefully it will be released to Steam sometime soon. The other game included with the Vapor-X HD5870 is Battlestations Pacific.
As we've seen on a handful of recent Sapphire boxes, this one also features a section on the back that lists a handful of the awards they have won recently, including the Bigbruin.com "Highly Recommended" award.
Inside the box, a fairly eco-friendly use of packaging materials finds the card wrapped in a bubble bag and placed in a form fitting paper tray. Underneath this tray is another thin cardboard box which contains all of the accessories. Clockwise from the top in the below right image we have the user's manual, certificate for a free download of Dirt-2, a driver disk, a pair of 4-pin Molex to 6-pin PCI Express power adapters, a DVI to VGA adapter, a Crossfire bridge, and a disk with Battlestations Pacific on it.
