Testing (continued):
Lost Planet:
A DirectX 10 benchmark integrated with the game Lost Planet was executed with a resolution of 1360x1016 (the maximum allowed), 4x AA, and with settings on high. The benchmark provides results for two scenes (Cave and Snow) with values in frames per second. Higher values are better for each, and we see that the GTS 250 finally wakes up in this test. This is approximately how I pictured the card performing against the competition on hand in all tests.
Company of Heroes:
With a resolution of 1680x1050 and with high settings, the DirectX 9 benchmark included with Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts was executed on the cards. The benchmark provides results in terms of a minimum, maximum, and average frame rate value, and higher is better for all three. Two tests in a row for the GTS 250 where the results didn't fail to meet my expectations!
While comparing the results for the GTS 250 directly to the 9800 GTX+ (and lower end Radeon cards) left a bit to be desired, the card should be capable of providing decent gaming performance at higher resolutions and above average settings.
