Performance:

To test the performance of the Kingston Data Traveler 2000 64GB USB 3.0 flash drive we will run it through the following benchmarks: CrystalDiskMark and USBFlashSpeed.com USB Flash Benchmark.

The first benchmark we will look at was obtained using CrystalDiskMark 4.0.3 x64, and as you can see in the chart below the maximum read speed was almost 164MB/s and the maximum write speed was almost 123MB/s.

The USBFlashSpeed.com USB Flash Benchmark tests the read and write for several different files sizes as you can see in the chart below. The results from this test were equally impressive; here it had a peak read speed of 156MB/s and a peak write of 117MB/s. This link is to this specific drive's interactive results for the USBFlashSpeed.com Bench: http://usbflashspeed.com/148872

Since the Kingston Data Traveler 2000's focus is data security I really wasn't expecting much in the way of performance, but I was happy to see it is not slow either. While it may not be as fast of some of their other offerings it is still quite fast and actually bests their quoted specifications. Overall these are some very impressive transfer rates for an encrypted drive.
