Packaging:
The
Seagate FreeAgent DockStar comes packaged in a very heavy duty cardboard box. The front of the box does not provide an abundance of information, and what you do find there is more like a teaser, just to get the consumer's attention. However, the back of the box provides enough detail to allow a consumer to know exactly what the DockStar is used for. It even provides a very simplistic overview of the installation procedure so that a potential consumer can see how easy it is to install.
Inside the outer box is another heavy duty box; this time with no print. In here is where the DockStar and its various accessories are stored for shipping.
There is no doubt in my mind that the heavy duty packaging material used by Seagate should be able to withstand almost any abuse that can happen through normal shipping.
Once inside this box we realize there isn't much to the DockStar. Included in the package is a power adapter, the DockStar, a quick start guide, and a flat Cat 5e ethernet cable. The manual provides about the same information as shown on the back of the box, but it also shows you that you can attach other USB drives, as well as providing a link for registering the DockStar.
