Packaging:
The
Chieftec BL-01B Bravo Series Case came packaged in a very bland box which reminded me a lot of how Thermalright packages their products. The box does not reflect the quality of the product, and has no impact on the review. The box provides a minimal amount of information; specifically the make, model, and a view of the front bezel. Nothing that would get anybody's attention in the retail world.
Opening the box, the case is well protected from damage by rigid Styrofoam. This will stop most damage typically caused in shipping. Under the Styrofoam block, the case is wrapped in a plastic bag that will keep moisture away from the case. The packaging is fairly typical, and is designed to keep the case in pristine condition until it is delivered to the user.
External Examination:
Taking a look at the front side of the case, it is obvious why this is called a Bravo L-Type case. The entire case is black, which is the only color it is available in.
A closer look at the front bezel reveals a vented section on the left side, and a large power button in the middle of the bezel. On the right side is a 5.25" optical drive bay, with "DVD" printed on it. Right under the optical bay is the standard front ports (headphone/microphone, and two USB), and a small reset button.
I personally feel two things are missing from the front bezel. The most important is a place to install a card reader, and the vented area would be a perfect place to install one. The second thing is very minor, which is an eSATA port.
