Storage
Kingston provided an early glimpse of a 256GB USB flash drive, expected to be available in February. No pricing is available, however expect it to be around $1,000.
Kingston is also releasing several new solid state drives in January. Unfortunately, we can not discuss these until they are formally announced. Watch Bigbruin.com for the announcement, along with a review of the new 128GB Kingston SSD.
Buffalo Technologies has a USB 3.0 drive on display. No benchmarks were available, however I would expect it to be 3x as fast as USB 2.0, if not faster. This item is currently shipping. The Buffalo Dualie is designed for the MAC users; a hard drive dock and an iPhone dock in one.
ioGear had several new devices, one being a PCI-E USB 3.0 card. Supporting up to 5GB/s for USB 3.0, it will provide you with two USB 3.0 ports, with power being supplied by a four pin Molex type adapter.
Ergonomics
A really cool piece of computer hardware at Digital Experience was a new keyboard and mouse by
Smartfish Technologies. The keyboard will automatically adjust typing position to reduce repetitive motion injuries. The keyboard will annoy many users, however if you have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome this keyboard could help alleviate that by periodically changing the typing position. It would take some getting used to, but in the long run if you type alot it might be a great change.
Smartfish Technology also had a mouse that pivots when you move it. This would also help reduce repetitive motion issues, as instead of your hand being in one position when using the mouse, it would cause your hand to move when you moved the mouse.
Conclusion
So much more to mention, however I'm tired and need to get some sleep before it all starts up again tomorrow.
