The next test involved accessing Speedtest.net, choosing a local server sponsored by my ISP, and then just letting it run. Wired testing involved using a ten foot long CAT-6 cable to connect a laptop, while wireless testing involved line of site proximity to the network devices using the laptop's Intel Dual Band AC7260 H/T WiFi radio.
Speedtest.net's Ping test doesn't show anything of interest, with everything coming in between 10-11ms.
Take a close look at the Wi-Fi results below... The ALLY Plus actually gave me the fastest download speed of all devices, so if you are in the same room with the router you can expect results that will surpass those offered by the big antenna-ed competitors. The wired speed of the ALLY device places it in third place, but still plenty fast!
The upload test offers similar results... While the wired results have the ALLY Plus tied for third, the wireless results show it in first place!
The test results show that the ALLY Plus can offer great speeds when in close proximity to the router, but more importantly to me it shows that the network of the router and extender help to cover my entire home in consistently fast Wi-Fi.
