As you can see the BlackVue DR900S-2CH has a ton of features to really make this a well-rounded camera, but all of these features are worthless if your images look like someone rubbed Vaseline on the lens. Thankfully this couldn’t be further from the truth. The 4K front camera is simply incredible and the 1080 rear is damn good.
In the linked videos you will see there is a little choppiness to the video at times but this is no fault of the camera. At 60mph you are traveling 5280 feet/min or 88 feet/sec. So a frame rate of 30 fps means you capture an image about every 3 feet. This does show in the video at times but you can reduce this by dropping the resolution to 1080/60fps but in all honesty I don’t see the point. This camera has such a wide FOV that I basically see pillar to pillar, so the chances of you missing a vehicle coming from the side is just about zero at 30fps. But I can just about guarantee the 4K resolution will help in resolving a license plate that the 1080 setting would have missed. There were a few times the camera’s exposure was overwhelmed but these were few and far between. All of these instances were times your eyes would have trouble too, like cresting a hill going into the sun. Really not much you can expect it to do.
