Testing (continued):
CrystalDiskMark 3.0:
CrystalDiskMark was executed using 1,000MB files for the full 5 passes.
During the Sequential Read phase of the test, both
Seagate drives performed slightly better than the Western Digital drive when using USB 2.0.
The Sequential Write phase results were similar, however the difference came in around 3.3MB/s.
Reading in 512K blocks, the Seagate GoFlex Desk starts to show off. It outperformed both of the other drives by a minimum of 3 MB/s. While 3 MB/s is not that much, when transferring a lot of files this could make a difference.
When writing in 512K blocks, the performance difference gets even larger. The GoFlex Desk does the job close to 5 MB/s faster than the other drives. The USB 3.0 speed is still very respectable at 80 MB/s.
