Lian Li PC-C36 Muse HTPC Case
|
Accessories:
Lian Li thoughtfully includes a power supply cord, riser card and an additional back plate to support up to four low profile add on cards. They also provide screws for mounting hard drives and optical drives, two additional thumb screws, a small speaker and header for motherboard error and boot codes, a plastic cable organizer, some double sided tape for mounting the optical drive bezel and lastly rubber sound and vibration dampening grommets for mounting hard drives.
Power Supply:
The power supply Lian Li includes with the case is a compact 300W TFX unit manufactured by FSP Group Inc. The specifications for this power supply can be seen in the below right image, but here's a quick summary:
» +3.3V – 20.0A
» +12V1 – 6.0A
» +12V2 – 16.0A
» +5V – 2.0A
This is the first compromise we see in the Lian Li case. The power supply does not have enough capacity to power the mid to high level video cards available today.
The three pictures below show the connections available with the 300W FSP power supply. In the below left image we see the standard 4-pin ATX12V connector and 20/4-pin E/ATX connector. The center and right images show the power options for peripherals. Unfortunately, I discovered that the SATA power cable is too short to be connected to the optical drive and a hard drive installed in the upper drive tray. This meant that I had to use a 4 pin Molex to SATA adapter to power my hard drive. If this cable was about 1” longer the adapter would have been unnecessary.
