Testing (continued):
Call of Juarez:
Call of Juarez is yet another 3D game to offer a benchmark for analyzing DirectX 10 performance. The results are provided in terms of minimum, maximum, and average frame rate values, and higher is better for each. The results in the first chart were achieved with the system set to a resolution of 1280x1024 and no anti-aliasing.
Things started out as expected, as the lower resolution testing has the HD4850 X2 beating the two other configurations soundly. But things get really funky when the resolution is increased to 1680x1050 and the anti-aliasing is set to 4X. The performance of the HD4850 X2 plummets, and the Toxic HD4870 winds up looking like the champ since its scores didn't slip nearly as much. This is another instance where testing was repeated, and although scores varied a bit from test to test, the general range was the same (and unfavorable to the HD4850 X2).
