The Ultra Products brand represents a variety of computer components designed to meet the needs of the average user all the way up to the extreme enthusiast. Their product line-up includes simple cables, MP3 players, cases, memory, modding equipment, power supplies, and many other items. They are constantly releasing new equipment, and their latest power supplies continue to push their line-up forward.
This new power supply series, referred to as X3, is available in four power ratings; 600W, 800W, 1000W (technically two models of the 1000W), and a 1600W unit. These units include many of the features we have come to expect from an Ultra Products power supply including their FlexForce modular cables, high efficiency ratings, great looks, and plenty of power.
Ultra Products has sent the X3 1000 Watt modular power supply unit in for testing, and while this is more power than almost every current system out there would need, some feel the need to have extra power available rather than not have it. Keeping in mind that the power rating alone does not make a great power supply, let's take a look at this new unit to see whether it is a worthy addition to the Ultra Products line-up.
