The Basics:
Out of the packaging you simply have the g-1000 mouse, and no accessories or discs (not that any are really necessary). As you can see in the images below, the mouse has a slightly asymmetrical oval shape definitely intended for right hand use.
The black colored top is rubberized, giving this surface a texture which is non-slip and a bit softer than plastic, which should help you keep your grip while in use. The silver band along the side and the black portion below this band are hard plastic.
The images below provide a closer look at the top of the mouse, and perhaps the texture of the black rubberized area is visible. In addition, we can see the Everglide logo at the back, the two standard mouse buttons and scroll wheel, and two additional buttons used to change the optical resolution between the three set points (400, 800, and 1600 dpi). The arrow shaped button to the left in the images decreases the resolution, while the button on the right increases the resolution.
The below left image shows off the two thumb buttons that also feature a rubberized surface for a sure grip during games or a long day of work. The below right image shows off the bottom, which is rather unspectacular. It has a data label, a small box cutout for the optical sensor, and five raised ovals to help the mouse glide smoothly.
