HD Tach 3.0.4.0
HD Tach is dedicated to testing hard drive performance, and provides a variety of information (higher is better for all but access time). While the different clock speeds and graphics configurations had an impact on memory performance, drive performance is pretty even across the board.
Sisoft Sandra Xi
While Sisoft Sandra has many different benchmarks, I opted to use Sandra to execute only the CPU Arithmetic test. Graphics and memory are of little consequence in this benchmark, but it can be seen that quite a performance boost can be achieved with overclocking.
Futuremark Benchmarks
The chart below details the results from two
Futuremark benchmarks, PCMark05 and 3DMark06. PCMark05 performs tests geared towards the typical home user and businesses, and runs eleven different benchmarks ranging from stressing the CPU, memory, and hard drive, to 2D and 3D graphics performance. 3DMark06 is designed to test advanced 3D game performance using DirectX 9, and in our case was run at a resolution of 1280x1024 and no AA.
I found it interesting that even using the integrated Intel GMA 3100 graphics, the PCMark05 score was not too bad, while the 3DMark06 was really poor. This shows that the integrated graphics is not meant to be used for gaming.
