A bit more information on your intended use of this computer would greatly assist us in narrowing down the thousands of options available to you. Grin
It also wouldn't hurt to give us a ballpark budget, otherwise it's just a shot in the dark. Here's something at the top end of the spectrum, you probably don't need it, but I had fun putting it together to illustrate my point. Grin

Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition
4 Intel 160GB SSD drives for Raid 5
6 x 2GB DDR3
Dual Radeon 4870x2's
BluRay Burner
SoundBlaster X-FI Eilit Pro or Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 Deluxe if your into HDCP
PC P&C T12W
Asus Rampage II Extreme

If you find you want something a bit more reasonably priced, we can do that to, just let us know what you want to use the comp for and how much your looking to spend. Wink

nice, i would suggest one change though, well a few, its really nice going modular on the psu, i currently own a BFG 1200 EX. its really good, the dual 4870X2's have many driver issues, i suggest two single cards, GTX 285's. And the processor, Core i7 920 can be overclocked to 4.0ghz so would i really be worth it to spend 1000 bucks on the extreme? Cases- Go for one with good cooling and FULL TOWER ATX, i got a Antec 1200 it keeps the components really cool.

Here's a more reasonable build. It doesn't include a monitor or after market cpu HSF because I'm not sure which ones fit. Hopefully someone on here can recommend one. If you needed to free up some cash for a monitor, you could lose the velociraptor drive or WD Caviar drive if you don't need the extra space. You could also go with an HD4870 and save a couple more $$$ Going with an older intel 775 board and quad would probably save you about $250 and going with an AMD Phenom II would probably save you another $50 or more on top of that. Either of these less expensive systems would make very good gaming computers, but the Intel Socket 775 will have limited cpu upgradability in the near future and since this is a new build you should try to go with the Core i7 LGA 1366 or Phenom II and socket AM3 board.

Comes out to $1470 not including shipping. With a bit of research you may be able to find some of these items for less on other sites. I used the egg because I find it easy to navigate their site.

If you are looking at an AMD build, here is a good option that fits your price range very well.

Thermaltake V9 Black Edition Tower $89.99 -$20 rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133074

Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Modular Power Supply @159.99 - $30 Rebate
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153038

Asus M4A79-T Deluxe Motherboard $189.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131363

Noctua NH-U12P CPU Cooler $59.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608002

Westerd Digital Velociraptor 300gb $229.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136322

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 32mb cache Hard Drive $109.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284

G.Skill PI Black DDR3 1600 4 Gb (2x2) kit $149.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231228

Asus Radeon 4890 1gb DDR5 graphics card $259.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121308

LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD drive and burner $109.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136154

LG 22x DVD +R $24.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136152

The total of that is $1384.90. With $50 in rebates and there is a combo on the case/power supply combo right now that drops another $30 off the total, bringing it to $1304.90 before the CPU is added. There is no CPU listed because the Phenom II 955 isn't in stores yet, and I don't know firm pricing. At the moment, it looks like right around $300 for the CPU, and it should be available in the next two or three days. Alternatively you could drop in the Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition which is a marvelous processor at less than half the price of the 955 at $139.99. With the 720 processor, you might even be able to add a second 4890 to the system within your budget. Also, I threw the Blu-ray in just in case you would ever use the computer for media viewing as well as gaming. If not, you can pull it out and save another $109.99.

This is a very nice build. I'd get the 720 because it seems pretty darn awesome for overclocking. AM3 choice brings you nice upgradeability since that's the socket they'll be using in the next generation of processors.

A i7 920 PC would be easily available within that budget.
