Good point Knight, but it is nice to have a car that you do not have to check everything over every time you go somewhere. I have a 2004 Saturn VUE that is not that expensive to buy. I got mine for $19000 Canadian (so that's probably $10000 American )Its an economical 4banger that gets around 34-36MPG. The peace of mind knowing that the better half with the kids should have no problems on their commute. (I get the older SL2) _________________ A8N SLI Premium, 64 - 3700, 160g sata hd, 1 GB 3200 cl 2.5, Asus Extreme EN7800GT, 19" Acicero and win xp

Reno, that's pretty common in all areas. Car Dealers have a good amount they can use to "dicker" with. Savings, cash rebates, etc. Usually they don't tell people them. Most dealerships around where I live offer totally free oil/check-ups for 3 - 5 years now with new car leases/purchase.
They won't tell you these things, as when they do tell you, they want you to feel like they've done you a favor, to help entice you to buy from them. Have to remember, all the dealerships I know of, the salesmen are on a comission based salary. Their sales are their livelyhoods...no sales = small paycheck.
Hopefully he realized that with leases, you have a VERY small number of miles you can put on the vehicle a year, then it's a VERY large penalty for each additional mileage. A friend ended up paying like 10K when she turned in her Lexus lease because of that...have to be careful with the leases.
I agree, you don't need to have a car that's worth that much to get around. On the other hand, you do need to have a car that's reliable. Think the car I just bought is the most expensive car I've ever bought and it was only at $20K |

I prefer to buy the thing, sure the payments are a little more but then you pay it off and can have no car payments for several years. We're on a 10 yr rotation here. Every 10 yrs one of us will get a new car. |
we fully agree with you on this now the car she turned in was like 25-40 % under on miles and we got a hell of a refund check from Saturn on the return a whole 14 cents may of been 23 cents . we will never lease again .and your always worried you be going over on mileage . we bought this saturn vue . |
