Conclusion:
Overall, I like the
Viewsonic VA2323wm 23” widescreen LCD monitor very much. The picture quality is excellent and this refurbished model is in such great condition that it could pass for new. The 23” screen was an upgrade from my precious 20” monitor, and while it may sound silly to say, that extra 3” really does make a difference in the quality of the image and my enjoyment in playing my favorite games.
There is a downside to this monitor, though. I am disappointed by the sound quality from the built-in speakers. If that was all I had available for me to use, I would make due, but I wouldn’t like it very much.
The Viewsonic VA2323wm 23" widescreen LCD monitor is currently the cheapest of all the
23" LCD monitors Geeks.com has in stock, and it is available for
$159.99 (US).
This is a great monitor for the average user, such as myself. With the competitive price that Geeks.com offers for a refurbished model such as this one, it is definitely affordable and is money well spent. Looking elsewhere finds the new version at a "big box" store for $199.99 and at other popular online retailers for $179.99 or higher.
Considering the price and the like new condition, I give the Viewsonic VA2323wm 23" widescreen LCD monitor the Bigbruin.com "Recommended" award.
Pros:
» Decent saving versus brand new at $199.99 from the "big box" guys
» Came with a DVI cable
» Arrived in brand new condition
Cons:
» Built-in speakers have poor audio quality
» Menu buttons don't blend into the chassis
