Packaging:
The
Thermaltake Armor A60 is packaged so that the front of the box presents a brief overview of the case, and two of the biggest features. The back of the box has much more detail, going over the airflow design, fan layout, internal and external design features.
Just as expected, the Armor A60 is sealed in a plastic bag, nestled between two large foam blocks. This keeps the case safe from damage during shipping.
External Examination:
After removing the protective packaging, several features of the Armor A60 stand out, and these will be looked at more closely later. The Armor A60 has a matte powder finish, which will appeal to many people. Most of the case is made out of heavy duty SECC metal, which isn't as nice as a case made out of aluminum, however it does keep the cost down. The front bezel has some plastic, however there is a significant amount of metal there as well.
The front panel not only includes the three 5.25" drive bays and the 3.5" drive bay, it also includes the standard front I/O ports. These ports include a single USB 2.0 connection, headphone, microphone, USB 3.0, and eSATA. The bottom half of the front panel has a slight 3D look, as parts of the front panel are raised from the rest. The entire front panel is made to resemble a metal mesh. The mesh style panel will provide a large amount of airflow.
