The Basics:
When looking at the front of the sunglasses, it is obvious that the focal point in the design is the Carl Zeiss designed Sola Sunless lenses. The glasses have a sporty, aggressive look which is a nice change from the typical "blade" style of glasses that many other MP3 glasses employ.
The lenses are polycarbonate so they won't break very easily, but they can be scratched. If you do happen to damage your lenses, you can replace them through Tri-Specs where several different tint options are available.
The ear stems of the sunglasses are thicker than normal sunglasses because they contain the necessary electronics, the rechargeable battery and the controls.
The below left image shows the left stem, where the volume controls and the phone answering button are located. The volume down button also doubles as a mute button, while the OneTouch phone button doubles as the sync button. In the below right image we see the right stem. Along the top edge are the play controls (rewind, play/stop, fast forward). There is also a micro USB connection used to charge the Tri-Specs. Under the Tri-Specs logo is a tiny status LED.
As mentioned, the earbuds are connected via a retractable cord. Reel out just as much cord as you need, and when you are finished a press of a button found on top of either stem will retract them.
