Packaging and Accessories:
Geeks.com has provided a refurbished unit for review, but as with most of their 'refurbs' we have looked at over the years you might be hard pressed to tell that it wasn't new. From the packaging down to the GPS itself, nothing should make you think 'used' when you think 'refurbished'.
The retail box is shown in the images below, where you see a few views of the XL340-S and its various screens, as well as some general information about its features and capabilities.
Inside the box, the first thing you will find is the GPS nestled in a form-fitting pocket. This cardboard tray not only separates the GPS from the balance of accessories in the box, but also provides TomTom a place to let you know that support is just a call or click away.
Next we have a look at the other items found in the box. The below left image shows the paper goods, which include a notice that this is in fact a refurbished unit and as such carries a 6-month warranty. You will also find a user's guide and a "Services & Accessories" guide. The below right image shows the other accessories, which include a car power adapter, a base plate which may be useful for some installations, and a USB cable for connecting the GPS to your computer.
