TickTalk was founded in California back in 2014 with engineers from Samsung and Apple that decided to get together to use their experience in creating wearables to make a smart watch for kids. But up until recently their devices were stuck on 2G networks. With 5G starting to roll out many companies are planning or have already started to phase out 2G, so they came out with the TickTalk 3 which can utilize 4G, which obviously provides a bit of future proofing. The TickTalk 3 Kids Smart Watch Phone is designed for kids 4-12 years old.
Features and Specifications:
As mentioned, the TickTalk 3 is a smart watch phone that runs on 4G networks, but has backwards compatibility with 3G and 2G networks. The device comes in two colors, white or black, and has several interchangeable bands to customize the look. The base watch sells for $170 and additional bands are $15 each. Besides being able to make calls on the watch, you can also send and receive text messages, it has a built in calculator, it can take pictures, has GPS for tracking, and is waterproof to IP67 standards. It also includes a FaceTalk feature which is similar to FaceTime, so you can talk to your child and see them at the same time. You can also set Do Not Disturb times in the phone so they aren’t distracted at school, as well as set reminders for activities. It also offers a Super Hearing Mode which allows you to hear what is going on around your child. Below are some additional details taken from their website.
