Packaging and Accessories:
The Seagate FreeAgent Theater+ media player is sold in the packaging shown below. They've taken what might have been a plain brown cardboard box and printed images and details regarding the product in full color. On the front you get a look at the front of the FreeAgent Theater+ along with some brief information, and around back you get a three step pictorial that describes one way to use the product.
Inside the rather eco-friendly packaging we find the media player wrapped in a plastic bag, and protected by a recyclable paper tray. The quick start guide is located above the player, while the balance of the accessories are stored underneath.
The image below shows all of the accessories, which include a component video cable, an audio/video cable, an ethernet cable, an AC power adapter, a wireless remote control, and two AA batteries to power the remote control.
What you will not find with the device is an HDMI cable or a detailed instruction manual. An HDMI cable seems to be the bigger oversight, as they have included cables for the other connection types, and I feel HDMI has to be most desirable. I'd gladly trade the network cable (which seems a bit short to be practical) or any of the other AV cables for an HDMI cable.
While the quick start guide helps get you up and running, more detailed information might be necessary. For example, a printed list of file formats or more information on the upcoming wireless support would have been nice.
