Conclusion:
There are definitely faster USB 3.0 flash drives on the market, but with a
price tag of under $25 (US), the
Team Group Color Turn 32GB USB 3.0 unit definitely has its appeal. Coming in with about 60MB/s read and 25MB/s write when transferring large files was more than acceptable to me. Getting the files on there may take a little longer than I'd like, but accessing them once on the drive is far quicker than when the same work was being done with a USB 2.0 drive. The manufacturer rates the drive for 54MB/s read and 30MB/s write, and I can confirm that those specifications can be met or exceeded in real life.
While the color combination of brown and silver may seem odd in today's world of electronics being offered in the traditional white/silver/black - or in more vibrant/sporty pallets using colors like blue or red - to me it doesn't matter. It is just a flash drive. My main concern is with the "cap" and that it continues to protect the drive. While I appreciate that it is connected and that I will have a hard time losing it, it doesn't do much to keep dust / water away from the connector when closed. Additionally, there is no mechanism to keep it closed to gaurantee that the connector stays protected while in my pocket or while rattling around inside my laptop's bag.
Considering the price and performance, the Team Group Color Turn 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive earns the Bigbruin.com "Good Value" and "Recommended" awards.
Pros:
» Competitively priced
» Reasonable speeds for a budget priced drive
» "Cap" is connected so you can't lose it
Cons:
» "Cap" doesn't do to much more than provide a bumper for the USB 3.0 connection
